Jennings Elementary School in Colfax is one of two schools in the state to receive a National Title I Distinguished School award.
The school was honored in both categories of the awards – for excellent student performance in reading and math for two consecutive years and closing the achievement gap among all students.
The District found out by way of a phone call from Washington's Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Jennings Elementary Principal Travis Howell announced it to his staff on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
