Holiday traffic patrols

Washington Traffic Safety Commission has joined forces with Uber to encourage patrons to take a safe ride home during the holiday season. In areas where Uber services are available, they will offer riders $20 off their first trip as part of the effort, with the promo code RIDESAFEWA. Also Uber has launched Uberevents which will enable companies to arrange safe rides for their employees throughout the holiday party season. Extra DUI enforcement patrols statewide began Nov. 26 and will end Jan. 1. Colfax, Pullman, Whitman County Sheriff’s offices and the Washington State Patrol are teaming up to participate with extra patrols.
