Jennings students donate food

Sixth graders from Jennings School Tuesday delivered food collected in the school food drive to the Colfax Food Pantry. The food donations were collected at the school during a week-long food drive. They were loaded in a Coast van at the school, and the sixth graders were shuttled down to the Pantry in a bus to unload the cargo.

Winners of the class competition for the food collection were Wendy Hickman's fourth grade class in the upper hall with 424 items, and Heather York's third grade class in the lower hall with 236 items. A total of 2,464 food items were collected, and the weigh-in total at the food pantry this morning was 2,144 pounds.
