Merry Cellars hosts annual holiday barrel tasting event

Merry Cellars Winery in Pullman last weekend hosted their annual Holiday Barrel Tasting, with more than 600 in attendance.

“It went very well,” said Patrick Merry, winery owner. “It was a great event.”

Merry said the Holiday Barrel Tasting is a great time for wine club members to gather.

“It is the one time of year our wine club members get together,” he said. “It's a friends and family event. Very social.”

Merry said the event has continued to grow throughout the last 11 years, and he said that is largely attributed to the wine club.

“It continues to grow each year,” he said. “It was mostly our regulars, our wine club members, who are the bread and butter for most wineries.”

Merry said his winery has about 600 club members, and about half of those were in attendance throughout Friday and Saturday.

“We are really happy with where we're at. We have felt the need to get out there and promote ourselves because of our members,” he added.
