Thrifty Grandmothers offer kids' shopping On Dec. 21, from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m., the Thrifty Grandmother's shop on Main Street in Colfax will host Christmas shopping for children ages 4 through 12.
Gift cards will be good for that time only.
Parents will be asked to sign in children with a name and phone number.
Children will be signed out when picked up.
Winter Art Series returns to Dahmen After a successful run in 2015, the Wild Women Winter Art Series returns to Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown beginning Sunday, Jan. 3.
This fun program is in collaboration with the Palouse Women Artists and offers 16 different topics on Sunday afternoons from 12:30 to 3:30 through April 24, except for Easter Sunday.
The cost of each is $35 for advance registrations, or $45 the day of the workshop.
A few workshops have a materials fee that is paid to the instructor the day of the class.
Class descriptions along with the instructor’s bio are shown on the Event page at http://www.artisanbarn.org, where online registrations are available.
January classes are: Knitting miniature socks on Jan. 3; Etching on glass on Jan. 10; Painting on silk Jan. 17 (registrations required by Jan. 10); Pop-up books and cards on Jan. 24; Sumi-e painted greeting cards on Jan. 31.
Rosalia reception Rosalia's Mayor's reception will be Tuesday, Dec. 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
at the Pinewood Cottage with goodies and songs.
The Rosalia council meeting will follow.
Jess Ford raises $2,000 for scouts Jess Ford of Pullman for their partnership in raising funds for local Scouting.
During Nov., Jess Ford of Pullman donated a portion of profits per each vehicle sold for a total of more than $2,000 to benefit Scouting in Whitman and Latah counties in what is known as the Chief Kamiakin District.
The support provided by Jess Ford will help provide scholarships for Scouts, training for involved adult volunteer leaders and program supplies.
CLUBS & YOUTH GROUPS AthenAeum Athenaeum Club held its annual Christmas party Dec. 4 at the Methodist Church.
There was a wonderful luncheon provided by the Yearbook Committee.
Kirk Schmick, accompanied by his guitar, provided a variety of music which was enjoyed by all.
The next meeting will be held Jan. 16, 2016.
