art show
set at library
The Rural Alliance High School art show will return to the Colfax Library the week of Jan. 9-15. The exhibit will feature more than 100 creative works of participating high school students. Students from Tekoa, Rosalia, Garfield/Palouse, Oakesdale and St. John/Endicott will participate.
An art show reception to help celebrate the teens and their accomplishments will be Monday, Jan. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. Featured student artists will speak briefly about their work. Refreshments and live music will be part of the program.
The exhibit and reception are free to the public and will be in the Norma McGregor room at the Colfax Library.
The art will be on display for the week during open hours at the library.

Pullman LWV
Pullman League of Women Voters brown bag lunch on Jan. 21 will feature Fire Chief Mike Heston with a talk on hazardous waste responses and calls related to drugs and alcohol. The meeting will be at the Community Congregation Church, 525 NE Campus Street, Pullman. Parking will be available in the lot next to church. The public is invited to attend.

Warmenhoven, Columbia Mae, born Dec. 21 at eight pounds, 10 ounces, to Zachary and Lliane Warmenhoven, Colfax. Paternal grandparents are Robert and Debbie Warmenhoven, Kettle Falls, and Tina and Matt Maitland, Des Moines, Wash. Maternal grandparents are Lisa Jamieson, Langley, B.C., Canada, and Mark Keatler, Quesnel, B.C., Canada. Baby joins brother, Ryder, 2.
