Colfax boys hammered out two big wins at the West Valley tournament to run their season record to 5-4. The Bulldogs Tuesday afternoon dropped the Tonasket Tigers 67-28 in the second round of the big Eagles' Holiday tournament. Colfax held the Tigers to just 13 points in the first half while rolling up 45 points with a 29-point blitz in the second quarter.
Coach Reece Jenkin put the bench to work in the second-round runaway.
Senior Danny Robinson led the Bulldogs with 13 points during limited action.
In the first tourney round Monday, Colfax rapped Colville 64-33 with another first half explosion. They led 32-13 after two quarters. Robinson broke out for 20 beans in the first tournament round.
The two big wins at West Valley marked a 3-0 string for the Bulldogs who had a rough start in the NE campaign during the pre-holiday run of the season.
Colfax Saturday is scheduled to host Tekoa/Rosalia when NE action resumes.
The Timber-wolves, now 1-7, were defeated 64-44 by the SJE Eagles Tuesday in a visit to St. John. Sophomore Griffin Parrish hit at game high 22 for the Eagles. Cooper Angelo led the Timberwolves with 12.
The S.J.E. girls also won, 45-35.
