Hobert Warren Black
Hobert Warren Black, 79, retired Oakesdale area farmer, died last Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at the Tekoa Care Center where he had made his home for the past four years.
Born Sept. 14, 1936, in Oakesdale to Hobert and Etta Louise Best Black, he was raised in the Oakesdale area where his parents farmed. He attended schools in Oakesdale and graduated from Oakesdale High School in 1954. Following high school, he farmed with his father.
Warren married Joann Klarren in the early 1960’s, and the couple had two daughters, Shellie and Susie Black. His wife died in 1972, and he retired from farming. He moved to Oregon in 1974. He later lived in Las Vegas and Reno, Nev., and then moved to Spokane where he lived before moving to Tekoa Care Center.
Mr. Black was an excellent piano player and enjoyed music and old cars.
Survivors include his daughter, Shellie Rose of La Pine, Ore. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Black, in 2000.
His ashes will be buried in the Oakesdale Cemetery.
