City discusses donation fund

Possible creation of a separate budget fund to include all donations to the city was discussed at the Jan. 4 Colfax City Council session.

City Administrator Mike Rizzitiello said donations to city projects are now listed in individual funds in the city budget and can sometimes be difficult to track.

He said the single donation fund in the budget would act as a trust fund, which would provide better tracking of donations and better ensure they are used as intended.
