New Palouse inn and retreat arrives

A new place to stay in Palouse opened this week.

The Riverside Retreat & Inn is located on Main Street, kitty-corner from the Green Frog Café.

Chuck and Debbie Goetz, who also own Grammy G’s Quilts in Palouse, closed the deal to buy the building in December and quickly converted the former veterinary clinic into a three-room inn and retreat area.

They brought in beds, curtains, microwaves, refrigerators and coffee pots and remodeled the community bathroom, installing a shower.

“Other than paint and putting in some egress windows, that building was in good shape,” said Debbie Goetz.
