Precision ag workshop Jan. 27

A farm management training workshop is scheduled in Colfax next week. The program, put on by the Agricultural Marketing & Management Organization, will be Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Whitman County Library in Colfax.

Dr. David Mulla of the University of Minnesota will present the topic, “Remote Sensing for Precision Ag.”

“We provide an annual series of workshops that can help our growers and distributors with their farm management decisions,” said Lori Williams, AMMO outreach coordinator.

Williams said Dr. Mulla's presentation will be about technology and the benefits it can provide for “increasing grower's profits and decreasing input costs.”

The program is free to Washington Association of Wheat Growers members and costs $25 for non-members. Lunch will be provided. AMMO requests registration to be completed at least three days prior because of the meal provided.

More information can be found at http://www.wawg.org/ammo-workshops. Registration can also be completed by email to [email protected] or by calling 1-877-740-2666.

The 2016 lineup of AMMO programs is also available at the website.
