The FFA Market Plan national championship team from LaCrosse High School was honored on Tuesday, Feb. 2, when they were recognized by the Spokane Ag Expo and Pacific Farm Forum as a 2016 Excellence in Agriculture Award recipient. Receiving the award were team members LaCrosse High School juniors Britte Harder and Abigail McGregor, and 2015 graduate Jason Wigen. LaCrosse teacher and FFA advisor Lisa Baser coached the team.
The team from LaCrosse successfully competed at the district and state levels before competing against 32 other state champion teams at the national FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, in late October.
This is the the third year that the Expo’s board has honored individuals and companies with the Excellence in Agriculture Awards. The LaCrosse team was recognized in the youth category. Previous youth category winners have been the FBLA team from Odessa High School, and the Ag Issues team of the Liberty FFA chapter.
