Serving Whitman County since 1877
Inland Northwest Community Foundation has awarded Palouse Habitat for Humanity a $15,000 grant to help purchase a pickup and delivery truck for use during their surplus sale, which is a fundraiser to support their home building and repair program that serves serving low income families.
The sale is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 304 N. Main Street in Moscow.
“The ability to offer pickup and delivery is an important service,” Jennifer Wallace, executive director, said.
The sale offers donated construction and home improvement materials, furniture and appliances. Donors can call and arrange for volunteers to pick up the items.
She said their current truck is no longer reliable and has left volunteers stranded.
Palouse Habitat for Humanity, the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, has been building affordable housing in Latah and Whitman counties since 1992. They just completed their 15th home, in Moscow, and are planning two home repair projects this spring.
