NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following Whitman County roads/bridges will be closed to vehicular traffic for the 2016 Snake River Canyon Half Marathon, pursuant to R.C.W. 47.48.01, for the time periods specified below:
County Road No. 9000, the Wawawai Road from the Wawawai Park to Steptoe Canyon Road on March 5, 2016 from 9 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Sealed bids will be received on the following proposal by the Board of County Commissioners of Whitman County, State of Washington, at its office in the Whitman County Courthouse in Colfax, Washington, until 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time, on February 29th, 2016 at which time they will be opened and publicly read. Handicap access may be obtained by the Mill Street entrance to the Courthouse.
Each bid is to be separately sealed in an envelope addressed to the Board of County Commissioners with the name of the bidder and item bid, including time and date of opening written plainly on the outside of the envelope. (NO FAXES ACCEPTED.)
The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept the bid which in its estimation best serves the interests of Whitman County.

Ordinance adopted by the LaCrosse Town Council on February 11, 2016:
TITLE: AN ORDINANCE of the Town Council of the Town of LaCrosse, Washington, providing for the prohibition of disorderly conduct or fighting, providing penalties for violation of such prohibition and for enforcement of such penalties, and providing for other matters properly related thereto.
SECTION 1: Prohibits disorderly conduct or fighting.
SECTION 2: Provides exceptions to ordinance violations.
SECTION 3: States penalties for violations.
SECTION 4: Identifies the Code Enforcement Officer as having authority to issue citations.
SECTION 5: States a general monetary penalty and discusses civil infractions and burden of proof.
SECTION 6: States the penalty for failure to appear before the court.
SECTION 7: Discusses administrative responsibilities for Town officers and employees.
SECTION 8: Identifies process for preliminary determination of violations.
SECTION 9: Outlines the procedure for notice of a civil infraction.
SECTION 10: States the requirement that a person found in violation provide his or her identification and allows Code Enforcement Officer to detain such person if they fail to provide identification.
SECTION 11: Identifies the process for responding to a notice of infraction.
SECTION 12: States monetary penalty for failure to respond to a notice of infraction.

2016 Election Due Notice
Pine Creek Conservation District adopted a resolution at their January 20th, 2016 board meeting setting an election for an expiring elected board position on the Pine Creek Conservation District Board.
The election will be held March 23, 2016 at the District Office, 401 S. State Route 27, Oakesdale, WA. Polls will open at 1:00 PM and close at 6:00 PM. Registered voters who reside within the Conservation District boundary are eligible to vote.
Elections procedures are available at the district office.
Absentee ballots are available upon request for eligible voters, but must be requested on or before 5:00 PM on March 3, 2016.
