The grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new Uniontown Library took place Saturday in Uniontown.
A crowd of supporters and patrons gathered for the open house to mark the project's completion.
The total estimate for the expanded library is $76,000, made up of $30,000 in Whitman County .09 economic development funds, $17,000 from Inland Northwest Community Foundation, $2,000 from Northwest Farm Credit Services and $8,700 in contributions from local businesses and individuals. In addition, there were donations of time, materials and expenses.
The new library offers five times the floor space as the previous, which opened in 1946.
