The body of Joshua Timmermans, 32, Endicott, was found at about 9 a.m. Tuesday submerged in a creek about 500 yards from a 1981 Datsun pickup which was found at a crash scene reported Monday night on the Endicott Road about three miles west of Diamond. Deputies who responded to the crash were unable to find the driver of the pickup in a night search in which they used night vision and an infrared device to scan the area. The search was resumed Tuesday morning in daylight after deputies identified Timmermans to be the driver of the truck and learned he had not returned home.
Sheriff Brett J. Myers said they believe Timmermans walked away from the accident scene and fell into the creek. Initial reports indicated that just prior to the accident Timmermans was observed highly intoxicated.
The sheriff said the manner of death will be determined by the county coroner
