‘Up to my eyeballs’ arrested

A formal charge of harassment with the threat to kill was filed March 3 in superior court against Bobby E. Farmer, 53, Pullman resident who was arrested at his residence after a Pullman Police investigation of a posting he allegedly had placed on the Rants and Raves segment of Craigslist for the Pullman area. The ad posting was reported to have been done under the title “Mass Murders.”

According to the investigation report filed by Pullman Officer J. Scott Kirk, Farmer told him he had made the posting after he was cut off in the parking lot at Walmart by a girl who was talking on a smartphone. Farmer told Kirk he was upset by the Walmart parking lot incident, but he did nothing at the scene, went back to his apartment and wrote the Craigslist posting.

The arrest account stated that Farmer’s posting said he had “had it up to my ——— eyeballs with WSU students.” The message alluded to “spoiled brats babbling on your smartphones” and a vow to “take down as many of you as I can.”

Kirk’s report said a check of Farmer’s criminal record showed prior convictions of transporting loaded firearms and possession of a sawed off shotgun. It added that, in an interview at the Pullman Police station, Farmer said he did not own any guns like he did in Oklahoma where he was convicted in 2005 and 2007. Farmer also pointed out the Craigslist posting did not mention guns.

Farmer’s bail was reduced from $10,000 to $1,000 in court Friday. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was set for an April 11 trial date.

He was ordered to not use Craiglist or go on social media pending his trial date.
