Pomona contest set at LaDow

Pomona Grange will have a baking contest and auction at LaDow Grange in Garfield March 12. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. with a potluck to follow at noon.

The baking contest is open to everyone. All proceeds from the auction will be used to send children to camp.

Be creative and win a prize: Wear your Easter bonnet with all the frills upon it to the meeting for a chance to win.

Illusionist will

perform at Empire

Tekoa Empire Theatre will present Isaiah Daniels: Magnificent illusionist Saturday, March 12, at 7 p.m. His show, titled "Spectacle" promises an evening of slight-of-hand, astonishing illusion and audience participation.

Admission will be $12 for adults, $8 for seniors/ active military, $5 for children and children younger than 5 free with a paying adult. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Regional Theatre of the Palouse will present the original St. Patrick's Day play, End of the Rainbow, based on an Irish folk tale. Presented by the children of the Performing Arts Workshop, it will be performed March 12 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the RTOP Theatre, 122 N Grand Ave., Pullman.

Beginning March 21, the Spring Performance Workshop will begin for children 8 to 16. It will culminate in a performance May 7.

As part of Palouse March Madness, Bank Left Bistro/Gallery will feature a Mad Hatter Breakfast March 12 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Crazy art sales, a Mad breakfast and out-of-the vault surprises have been promised by Nelson Duran, proprietor.
