Is it Trump & Clinton?

According to a CNN report, about half the political ads running prior to Super Tuesday 3 were anti-Donald Trump ads.

The one that gained the most traction was about his attitude toward women.

This commercial showed a variety of women simply quoting some of Trump’s more sexist comments. Reportedly, it has gained tremendous internet viewership and has been widely seen on television.

The ad was just part of the “stop Trump” advertising intended to slow his campaign.

It was said that if he won both Florida and Ohio on Tuesday the Republican race would be virtually over.

The negative advertising did not work.

Although Trump did not win both states, he dramatically won in Florida, as well as three other states. He lost only in Ohio. This is John Kasich’s home state which he took handily. On the Democrat side, Hillary Clinton swamped Bernie Sanders Tuesday.

Based on Tuesday’s election, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are apt to be their respective parties’ nominees for the presidency.

After the counts, Ted Cruz declared the Republican race is now down to two men, discounting Kasich altogether and noting the end of Marco Rubio’s campaign. Regarding the Democrats, pundits said that Bernie Sanders’ candidacy would no longer be a race for the nomination, but instead a “message” campaign to advance his agenda.

At this point, both Clinton and Trump are in virtual control.

Of course, much more of the campaign is yet to come. Both front runners have high negatives. Serious questions swirl around them both.

Even so, it appears as if Washington voters will have little impact on the nominating process. If the campaigns continue as they are, the two party nominees will be determined before the state’s primary elections are even held.

That is fundamentally wrong.
