An enthusiastic mass meeting of citizens of Whitman county assembled in the council chamber of Palouse City this afternoon to take action toward securing the agricultural college for Whitman county.

Matt B. Kelley, of Colfax, was made chairman of the meeting. In a few earnest words he urged the necessity of united and harmonious action by all localities till the commissioners had decided in favor of Whitman county. “Colfax,” he said, “wants the college to come to Whitman, whether it is located at Colfax or not.”
