Pistol in Rosalia leads to arrest

Jeffrey W. Rettkowski, 32, Rosalia, was booked into the county jail here late last Tuesday, March 29, on probable charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, failure to register as a sex offender and communications with a minor for immoral purposes. Bond for release at a first appearance was set at $75,000.

The investigation report said deputies were alerted by state Department of Corrections officers that Rettkowski, who was prohibited from owning a firearm, was seen carrying a pistol and holster around Rosalia. The report said deputies located a .22 pistol at a house where Rettkowski had been residing and received a report that he had purchased the gun at a show in Coeur d’Alene. He also allegedly failed to register a change of address when he moved into the Rosalia residence and was photographed kissing a juvenile female.
