The garden part of Tony Kettel Skate Gardens in Palouse is expanding in scope as a simultaneous effort shapes up to finish the skateboarding park this summer.
With a garden committee formed and partnership made with WSU Masters of Design students, organizers will now begin a fundraising campaign to raise $13,500 for phase one of the garden – a 16,000-square-foot former vacant lot above the concrete bowl for skateboarding. Initial pours for the bowl were made last fall.
Plans for the garden now include an outdoor classroom, ADA-friendly pathways and other features.
