Dusty guests visit from Terre Haute, Indiana

Danielle Worley and Kacie Barton of Terre Haute, Ind., visited Dick and Suzy McNeilly recently. Suzy’s mother and Danielle were sisters. The women drove to Sumpter, Ore., to visit family, cousins Dan Warnock and Shelby Getz of Pendleton, Ore.

Reminder: Sunday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Homestead Ministries will have a soup bagging session at the Country Bible Church. Everyone is welcome to come help put together small bags of soup mix to give to those in need. Dress casually. Lunch will be provided after the session.

This past weekend, Roger and Peggy Zaring, Dusty, David Enos and Greg Nolan, Colfax, and Austin Beasley, Pullman, participated in the Desert 100 in Odessa. The local 3N1 Ridaz CMA Chapter set up a booth there. Greg and Peggy, along with some west-siders, rode the dual sport route Saturday while Austin and Roger participated in the race on Sunday. Both finished their heats. They all had a great time.

Colfax Christian Motorcyclist Association chapter, the Palouse 3N1 Ridaz, will have their eighth annual Tail of the Snake ride next Saturday, April 16. The ride will start at the Colfax Baptist Church parking lot. Sign-up for participation in the ride begins at 9 a.m. The ride will start at 11 a.m. There will be dual sport and street rides.

Also April 16, a pool tournament is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Pastime Tavern in LaCrosse. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Ted Torgeson family to help with his expenses. Call the Pastime Tavern to sign up for the tournament. Butch and Ashley are organizing it. Mr. Torgeson passed away last week. His services will Saturday, April 9, at 11 a.m. at the Methodist Church in LaCrosse.

Saturday afternoon visitors at the home of Karen Broeckel were Andrew, Emily and Murphy Nolan of Colfax. Broeckel is two-week-old Murphy's great-great-aunt.

Airman First Class Henry Zaring is visiting in the area for the next two weeks. He completed his tech training to be an air traffic controller at Keesler Air Force Base near Biloxi, Miss. and will next be stationed at Clovis, N.M.
