Farmington plans Arbor Day event

Marking its new designation as a Tree City USA from the National Arbor Day Foundation, the town of Farmington plans its second Arbor Day celebration in the town park April 30. Garth Davis, program manager for the Spokane Conservation District, will give a presentation. Samplings will be handed out, and guests may take part in a session led by artist Sharon Janson of Spokane to learn how to make pine-cone owls.

Apple, pear and apricot trees will be planted, and a door prize will be awarded. Refreshments will be served. The event is open to the public.
