Serving Whitman County since 1877

Animal care and control appreciation week

Endorsed by the National Animal Care & Control Association, the week of April 10-16, 2016, celebrates and promotes professionalism amongst animal care and control professionals nationwide.

The Pullman Police Department employs two full-time Code Enforcement Officers, Elizabeth Schaeffer and Emily Johns. Along with parking and code enforcement duties, they are tasked with animal control responsibilities for the City of Pullman. In 2015, police and code enforcement officers responded to more than 800 calls for animal-related service in Pullman. The Pullman Police Department recognizes the important role of these staff members and their dedication to protecting the health and welfare of wildlife and domestic pets within our community.

In addition, the Pullman Police Department recognizes the staff and volunteers of the Whitman County Humane Society for their continued support and quality care of Pullman animals through essential rescue, shelter and adoption services. Our city is lucky to have a wonderful group of dedicated individuals looking out for Pullman animals.
