Colfax tracksters book double

Colfax tracksters won both the girls and boys sides of an 11-team meet at Ritzville when competition resumed Tuesday after spring break. The Bulldog girls rolled out 154.5 points for a gap of more than 43 over second-place Wilbur/Creston which finished at 111.

The Bulldog boys stacked 143 points for a 52-point margin over the host Broncos who finished with 91.

Colfax girls stacked several points with first-place finishes, and the Bulldog boys took their win with solid finishes in most of the events for the day.

Scout Cai again posted wins in the 200 sprint, high jump and pole vault. She also ran a leg on the Colfax 4 x 400 relay team as the lone entry in the event.

Sophomore Carmen Gfeller again cruised to wins in both hurdle events.

Lone event win on the boys side was posted by Caleb Brown with a 5’10’’ on the high jump. Brown also placed second in the javelin at 129-1, 10 inches behind the winning launch posted by Dwight Brisbois of Wellpinit.

Ben Ahmann placed third in both hurdle events for Colfax.

Tekoa/Rosalia booked 11 points at the meet with Chase Neill placing second in the 400 run at 53.75, a half tick behind the win posted by James Segalla of Valley Christian.
