Wildcat baseball still unbeaten

Colton built their record to 13-0 (6-0 league) this week with a win over Genesee and a doubleheader sweep at Liberty Christian.

Playing at home Tuesday against Genesee, junior Brady Chadwick hit a three-run home run – the first of his career – to end the game.

Earlier, in the third inning, with the score 4-2 Colton, freshman Parker Druffel hit a two-out, full-count home run himself.

“His first career bomb,” said Colton coach Pat Doumit.

A two-out, bases-loaded triple from Reece Chadwick later made it 9-3 as the Wildcats took over the game.

Leading hitters on the day were Brady Chadwick (2-for-4) and Reece Chadwick, 2-for-3 with a triple and five RBIs.

Playing in Pasco April 16 against Liberty Christian, Colton dismissed their rivals 9-1 and 11-2.

Carter Dahmen threw all seven innings of game one, allowing three hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.

“It was vintage Carter,” Doumit said.

At bat for Colton, Dahmen went 2-for-4 with an RBI double while Peter Schultheis was 2-for-3, also with an RBI double.

Druffel hit a bases-loaded triple in the seventh inning to go 1-for-3 with three RBIs.

In game two, Brady Chadwick pitched all seven innings, allowing three hits with eight strikeouts and two walks. He led at bat as well; 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a double and a triple.

Cameron Bean also went 3-for-4.

Colton plays next at Endicott Saturday for a doubleheader against St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse.

“We're real happy with what we're doing,” said Doumit. “We're happy but not content. You're only as good as the next game you play.”
