Emergency alert system online for Pullman, county

The City of Pullman and Whitman County are working together to ensure the public knows of emergencies and disasters. The water main break under North Grand Ave. April 19 resulted in dropping water reservoir levels on College Hill and Military Hill and caused Pullman officials to issue a boil water order for some residents.

The boil water notice was not announced using the emergency notification system.

“That was the chief's call,” said Bill Tensfeld, Whitman County Emergency Management director.
