Endicott flea market offers 40 sale spaces

Endicott Community Club's annual flea market will be Saturday, May 21, and organizers are promising “lots of fun.”

Cinda Tribble, Endicott Community Club president, said the third annual event will be in the Andersons' lot across from the Endicott Food Market. The flea market will feature businesses and individuals.

“It's good for home-based businesses because it's good to see what people have,” Tribble said. “You like to support the people in your community.”

Tribble said the flea market, a once-a-year event, has been successful in the past.

“People from out of town come to sell and buy stuff,” she said, noting people have come from Spokane for the flea market.

The town formerly held a community garage sale, but later opted for the flea market mode, Tribble said.

“We had the community garage sales every year, and we just thought it would be good for the community to be together in one place,” she said. “If we did it in just one place everyone could be together and have a good time.”

Tribble noted the Endicott Food Center will be open during the flea market and will have a bake sale at the same time that will benefit the Relay for Life, slated this year for June 10-11 at McDonald Park in Colfax.

“Jenny's store will be open, so we can buy stuff from there, too,” Tribble said.

Tribble also noted she is hoping to have music this year at the market, though it will not be live music. She noted vendors in the past have been a guy who makes wooden benches and tables, photographers, Tia's Truffles, antiques and artisan work, among others.

“It's all kinds of stuff,” she said. “Lots of garage sale kind of stuff, whatever people have to sell.”

Vendors will be in 12 foot by 12 foot spaces, and space is available for 40 vendors. Registration is $15 per space. Thirty of the 40 spaces were filled last year.

Proceeds from the lot rentals are used to support community club projects during the year.

The flea market hours will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and vendors are allowed to start setting up at 7 a.m. All vendors must be removed by the end of the day.

Entry forms are also available at the Endicott Town Hall.
