Four juveniles, ages 14 to 17, were arrested just after midnight on Main Street in Colfax May 10. They were in a 2001 Dodge Caravan which had been reported missing earlier from a residence on the west hill of Colfax. Police Chief Rick McNannay said theft of two 30-packs of beer from Wal-Mart in Pullman and other car prowls in Colfax are also involved in the case.
The 17-year-old Colfax youth in the group was the same juvenile who was apprehended for displaying a pistol at Colfax High School during the previous school year.
Chief McNannay said the Colfax youth is suspected of taking the Caravan and driving to Pullman where he met up with the other suspects. Two other 17-year-old males and a 14-year-old female were the other juveniles apprehended. Two of the other suspects live in Clarkston and one resides in Pullman.
Chief McNannay said the city also received car prowl reports last week. He noted the Colfax youth arrested, who was taken to Martin Hall, was found to be in possession of keys which had been reported missing from another Colfax vehicle owner. The keys had been left in the ignition of the vehicle.
