Dorothy R. McRae
Dorothy R. McRae, 96, died May 17, 2016, in Tekoa.
Born Sept. 17, 1919, in Dayton, to Harry and Grace (Terry) Davis, she grew up in Dayton and graduated from high school. She enjoyed enjoyed riding horses and served as a Dayton Days Queen.
On April 26, 1946, she married Bill McRae and over the years they resided in Walla Walla, Milton-Freewater and for most of their lives, Pomeroy. McRae was a station agent for the Union Pacific Railroad.
She loved to garden, and the McRae home always had an abundance of fruits, vegetables and flowers. She also enjoyed the company of her cats and dogs.
McRae is survived by her daughter Jacqueline L. McRae of Walla Walla and a brother, Harry G. (Glen) Davis of Yakima.
Inurnment will be at the Ritzville cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a local humane society or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa in charge of arrangements.
