Oscar and Brian Broeckel spent a Sunday in Hay visiting with old friends and former saddle mates at the campsite of the Gentlemen on Horseback. Both Broeckels were participants in the annual ride for many years. Approximately 50 full-time riders are taking part this year.

Art Sager joined the Gentlemen on Horseback ride Wednesday. They spent the week in Hay riding to a different location each day. Sager estimated they rode about 18 miles the day he joined them. They had a camp cook who served breakfast, packed a lunch for them to take and put out a big spread for the evening meal. The evening was spent around the campfire with Tim Stamper providing entertainment.

Saturday, Blake, Carmen, Justin and Katy Heaton and the twins attended memorial services at the Hay church for Jack Garrett who died Dec. 16, 2015, at his home in Hay. A potluck at his home followed the service. His wife Donna preceded him in death.

Guests of Lelia and Keith Zaring are her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Bob Bell, from Laurel, Miss. The Bells arrived Tuesday and will stay until June 4, visiting and taking short day trips to points of interest.

Sunday, Karen Broeckel joined Jason Nolan, Greg and Gwen Nolan, Andrew and Emily Nolan and Lauren, Grady, Holden and Murphy, Jeanette Nolan, Mark and Carol Rubin and Jay, Kathy and Bryan Rubin at Boyer Park on the Snake River to celebrate Jason’s birthday.
