Oakesdale girls take NE-SE regional

Oakesdale Nighthawks stacked up 110 points Friday and Saturday at Central Valley to take a big win in the NE-SE regional track qualifier which had a total of 16 team entered. The Oakesdale team rolled up a 17-point gap over number-two Cusick.

Oakesdale was again led by Anne Hockett to win the 200, 400 and both hurdle races. They also harvested a bundle of team points with Emma Perry and Amber Jones finishing one-two in the 800 race. Oakesdale also qualified with second-place finishes in the 4 X 200 and the 4 X 400 relay events.

St. John/Endicott sophomore Jadyn Corder had the other win for county entrants with a 102-2 sling in the discus. She also placed second in the shot put at 31-10.

St. John/Endicott boys topped the county entry with 50 points behind the 100-point win stacked up by Odessa/Harrington. Adam Blakeley took a win in the long jump with a 20-0.5.

Tanner Dingman of Oakesdale booked a 41-4 for a big win in the triple with SJE's Cooper Lundberg finishing second at 38-7.

Lundberg and Parker Perry of Oakesdale were also part of a battle in the high jump which finished with the top four finishers all at 6-0. Perry was rated third on attempts behind the winner, Liam Bracken of Republic.
