Pullman Chamber of Commerce will host its second annual "Meet Pullman" event this summer. The event showcases local businesses for incoming students at Washington State University and their parents during the Alive program throughout the summer sessions.

The event will take place at BellTower, event venue and entertainment house, where new students and parents are able to meet with local businesses and learn more about the city of Pullman. At the reception, there will be food, drinks and prizes given away.

“There is a common misconception that because we don't have the big box stores, that we can't deliver to the students or our visitors,” said Marie Dymkoski, Pullman Chamber of Commerce executive director. “But it's quite the opposite. Pullman is such a safe community, and people want their children to come here. So the whole event is centered around showcasing what businesses have so that parents and students are not worried about not being taken care of when they come here.”

The first Meet Pullman event occurred on June 7, which was the first date of the Alive sessions. There will be a schedule of events at the Pullman Chamber of Commerce website, and they encourage the community to visit any of the Meet Pullman events, to not only welcome new students to the community but to also see what else Pullman has to offer.
