Participants in a meeting Sunday to determine the fate of the unused rail corridor between Colfax and Pullman were told the process could take as long as a year.
Alex Stone, a National Parks Service facilitator from Seattle, said at the start of the two-hour session they had initially intended to prepare a report for the State Department of Transportation by the start of the next legislative session, but now believe it will take about a year.
Sunday's meeting was a kickoff forum with individual sessions expected to be conducted later at Pullman, Colfax, Albion and Washington State University....
