Serving Whitman County since 1877
The Town of Rosalia is seeking a resident to fill a city council vacancy, following councilwoman Paige Collins’ move out of town.
Collins, who is the executive director at Council on Aging in Colfax, had been serving on the city council since January of 2015 and moved to LaCrosse recently, said Jenna McDonald, town clerk.
Council position one at large is open for letters of interest until June 13. McDonald said the council hopes to appoint someone at the June 14 council meeting.
McDonald said the council meeting time has been changed from the regularly-scheduled 7:30 p.m. start time to 7 p.m.
“It will give them enough time to do interviews and meet the candidates,” she said.
McDonald said anyone living in the town---- limits can apply for the at-large position with a letter of interest. She said if no candidate is chosen at the June 14 meeting, the deadline will be extended. Two letters have been received as of Friday, June 3, she said.
“Hopefully people get excited about the community,” McDonald said.
