Endicott fuel station officially shuts down

Endicott officially lost its only gas station Tuesday, June 14. CHS Primeland of Lewiston, which operated the pumps, announced the planned closure of the fuel site Jan. 13 this year.

“We regret to inform you the CHS Primeland has made the decision to discontinue dispensing fuel at this location,” Jeff Hagemann, energy manager at CHS, wrote to customers in Endicott. “This decision was not made lightly.”

In his letter, Hagemann cited things such as the age of the underground tanks, cost to replace the tanks and needed Federal Consumer Credit Card upgrades as reasons for the closure.
