Lentil cookoff deadline extended

Those still working on fine tuning their recipes for the 22nd annual Legendary Lentil Cook-off have been given a little extra time. Lentil Festival cook-off organizers announced last week that the entry deadline has now been extended one week until 5 p.m. June 20.

More than 100 recipes were received for the competition last year, with one entrant coming from the U.K. The top five finalists from the cook-off will be invited to go before a panel of celebrity judges and prepare their recipes at the festival, which is scheduled for Aug. 19-21.
