Honors banquet ends Oakesdale FFA year

At the May 24 Oakesdale FFA Banquet, many awards were given out to the FFA members for their achievements throughout the year. Pins were given to people who participated in soil evaluation, tractor driving, agriculture issues, creed speaking, agriculture mechanics, novice and advanced parliamentary procedure and veterinary science.

Discovery pins were awarded to the seventh and eighth graders, the greenhand pins were awarded to the first year ninth and tenth graders and the chapter degree pins were awarded to the 10th, 11th and 12th graders who have completed their second year in FFA.

The star greenhand was awarded to Logan Reed, and the star Chapter Farmer was given to Lindsey Lindgren. The outstanding blue and gold member award was given to Maddy Shrope. The “I Almost Got Away with It” award was given to Austin Rutledge.

New officers were Lindgren, president; Reed, vice president; Shrope, secretary; Cameron Schell, treasurer; Meaghan Belland, reporter; and Aliya Rutledge, sentinal.
