Leona (Jackie) Lyman
Funeral services for Leona (Jackie) Lyman, 89, were Wednesday, June 22, at the Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Pullman. Pastor Scott Lovaas officiated. Burial followed at the Viola Cemetery. Mrs. Lyman died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at her home at Regency Senior Living in Pullman.
Born Sept. 13, 1926, in Viola to Alba and Mabel Jessup Presby, she attended grade school in Viola and high school in Palouse where she graduated in 1945. She married Harold Hatley, and the couple farmed in the Pullman area for many years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Finch’s Grocery for six years. The couple was later divorced.
She and George Lyman were married June 7, 1974, in Las Vegas. The couple made their home in Coeur d’Alene. Mr. Lyman was a retired fireman from California, and Jackie worked in customer service for U.S. Bank in Coeur d’Alene. She retired in 1987. Mr. Lyman died in 2008, and she moved to Regency Senior Living in Pullman in 2010 to be near her family.
She was a member of the Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Pullman. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, traveling and camping with family. She enjoyed traveling with her sister around the United States in their fifth wheel trailer.
Survivors are three sons, Allen (Karen) Hatley of Spokane, Darrel (Debbie) Hatley of Kennewick and Dennis Hatley of Pullman; one brother, James Presby of Oregon City, Ore .; one sister, Jean Hein of Spokane; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Friends of Hospice, 1610 NE Eastgate Blvd. Suite 850, Pullman.
