Dahmen to feature

artist Ron Adams

Ron Adams of Ahsahka will be the featured artist for the July exhibit at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown. Adams paints in oil the beauty of the streams, rivers and mountain settings in Idaho’s Clearwater Valley.

The exhibit will open Friday, July 1, and run through July 31. An opening reception is scheduled for Sunday, July 3, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Ron began studying art at about the age of eight in 1954. From drawing and painting all kinds of objects and using water colors and then tempera paints, he finally settled on scenery using oil paints.

Many people from many parts of the country have purchased Ron’s paintings, which have nearly all been actual real scenes. Photos that the artist has taken on location make up most of the inspiring subject matter, though Ron’s preference is to paint sketches on location and then do the final painting in his studio.

Adams scenes from Florida coasts, beaches and swamps, the Smokey Mountains of South and North Carolina, the Blue Ridge Mountains, portions of Tennessee, and Kentucky, the Pennsylvania Allegheny Mountains, the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, the Sierras in California and Oregon, the Mojave desert with its beautiful Joshua trees and the mountains and hills of Idaho.

July 4 breakfast

The public is invited to a free July 4 breakfast at the parking lot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Almota Road. The 8 a.m. breakfast includes pancakes, breakfast meats, eggs, fruit and juice. Afterward there will be a flag-raising, patriotic music and games.
