There will be no morning worship services at the Country Bible Church on Sunday, July 10. Instead, the congregation will join other area churches for the annual “Worship Services in the Park” at 10:30 a.m. in Schmuck Park in Colfax. Everyone is invited to attend. Lunch will follow the services with hamburgers and hot dogs being provided.
Families are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and a side dish or dessert to share.
A large crowd attended funeral services for Dusty native Oscar Broeckel at the Country Bible Church Friday afternoon. Family members staying at the home of Brian and Angela Broeckel included children Graham, Dusty; Alex, Portland; Angela’s parents, Guenter and Brigitte Scherwinski, Mountain Home, Idaho. Arriving Friday morning, was daughter Sami, Walla Walla.
Staying at the Oscar Broeckel home were nephew John Allyn and Judy Murray, Bellingham. Brother-in-law and niece John and Renee’ Murray, Bellingham, arrived Friday morning. Guests of Tom and Doreen Riedner were Tony and Denise Kendall, Tacoma. Also arriving for services Friday were Oscar’s sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Ron Birch, and nephew Ronnie and Georgeann Birch and niece Michelle Walker, all of Spokane.
Saturday, Tony Kendall, Tacoma, bicycled from Dusty to St. John to visit his uncle, Tom Kendall.
Saturday, Tom and Doreen Riedner, Dusty, and Tony and Denise Kendall, Tacoma, celebrated the Kendalls' wedding anniversary with dinner in Moscow.
Sunday, Tom and Doreen Riedner joined other Riedner family members at an early Independence Day barbecue in Colton at the home of Tom’s brother’s family, Gary and Teri Riedner.
