Palouse council panel to name clerk finalists

Palouse City Council personnel committee members, led by Doreen Hanson, interviewed seven applicants for the clerk-treasurer position.

Mike Bagott has informed Mayor Michael Echanove of his intention to resign the position by the end of July, but has yet to officially resign.

The city committee plans to select three finalists and recommend them to Echanove, who will make the final hiring decision.

“If I take as much time as possible, maybe Mike won't quit,” Echanove said.
