Residents of Colfax may have noticed two women shooting video footage in town the past two weeks. Shaye Kingsley and Shannon Moudy were here for their work with KLEW-TV Lewiston, a CBS affiliate producing a piece on Colfax for their “Our Town” program.
The new, original program for KLEW is expected to air this fall, following promotions work.
The 11-minute Colfax segment is nearly complete, along with similar packages on Orofino, Uniontown and Moscow.
Kingsley and Moudy will take their cameras next to the Kamiah-Kooskia area to cover eight towns, beginning in August.
“It's kind of a stepping stone, I think, for more original programming,” said Kingsley, a productions assistant.
She and Moudy, a reporter, were in Colfax on two occasions, first for interviews in June and then for follow-up footage last week.
Households in the eight-county area surrounding Spokane have KREM or KLEW for the CBS affiliate, also on DIRECTV or DISH.
“Basically, anybody with a T.V. can get both of us,” said KLEW Station Manager Dan Stellmon.
The station will first air shorts of the “Our Town” features on KLEW News broadcasts – one town per week – before putting two to three segments together in half-hour episodes later this summer.
“We're really excited to do this,” said Stellmon. “Obviously, our region has a rich history and each town has their own.”
