“Craft Ales and Waggin' Tales” event to benefit Human Society

The Humane Society of the Palouse will host a fundraising party this weekend, and all area dog owners and feline lovers are invited to attend.

“Craft Ales and Waggin' Tales” will be at the Latah County Fairgrounds in Moscow Saturday, Aug. 6, starting at 1 p.m. The schedule of events includes a wiener dog race at 2 p.m., best trick and talent contest at 3 p.m., a pet and owner look alike contest at 4 p.m., frisbee competition at 5 p.m. and a pet costume contest at 6 p.m.

Admission for the event is $10, which covers the cost of a commemorative cup and four drink tokens, each worth a six ounce pour. Additional drink tokens are $2. For those not drinking, admission is $5 and includes the cup and bottomless soda.

All attending will receive a raffle ticket upon entry to be entered for prizes, which include a 10-movie pass to Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre, a multi-use backpack from Hyperspud Sports, gift certificates to One World Café and Palouse River Kennels and a pet photo shoot from ShutterKey Photography.

All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of the Palouse.

The Latah County Fairgrounds is located at 1021 Harold Street in Moscow near the Palouse Ice Rink.

La Casa Lopez will cater the event.
