Sheriff offers boater course

Whitman County Sheriff’s Office will offer a free mandatory boater education course for Washington boaters Aug. 10 and 11 upstairs in the Public Service Building at 310 Main St., Colfax. This seven-hour course will provide boaters the basics of safe boating that all recreational boaters should know. State law requires Washington residents born on or after Jan. 1, 1955, to carry a boater education card when operating a boat on Washington’s waterways.
