Serving Whitman County since 1877
Members of the Washington State Parks commission July 21 unanimously accepted a policy to commit the state to a full-length 285-mile John Wayne Trail across the state that was submitted by members of the state parks staff. An account in the Bulletin column of the July 28 Gazette, and in an issue in the prior week's Bulletin, incorrectly reported the report was submitted to the park commission by the John Wayne Trail advisory committee which conducted a series of meetings in Moses Lake.
The 12-member advisory committee met with parks staffers who subsequently made their report to the state parks commission at its meeting in Clarkston. The advisory committee did not submit a report.
