Nu-Blu from NC

set for Dahmen

Nu-Blu from North Carolina will play bluegrass music Saturday, Aug. 20, at Dahmen Barn in Uniontown. Admission is $15 at the door in the new, air-conditioned event space. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. Snacks and soft drinks will be available for sale and Wawawai Canyon, and wine and beer may be purchased by those 21 and older.

Based in Siler City, N.C., the group brings its lively and entertaining version of Americana-bluegrass music to audiences across the nation year-round. Their sound acknowledges the traditional institutions that have shaped it.

Influences range from the sounds of original bluegrass pioneers such as Earl Scruggs, Jimmy Martin and Lester Flatt to rock bands of the 1980's and modern contemporary sounds such as Alison Krauss and Union Station.

Nu-Blu started back in September 2003.

Gilmore, Brady Christopher, born Aug. 13 at nine pounds, 14 ounces, to Brian and Lindsey Gilmore, Moscow. Paternal grandparents are Rick and Deanna Gilmore, Moscow. Maternal grandparents are Don and Dixie Brooke, Seattle. Baby joins sister Chloe, 3.

Aguilar, Rogelio Mateo, born Aug. 15, at eight pounds, one ounce, to Francisco and Whitney Aguilar, Colfax. Paternal grandparents are Rogelio and Elvira Aguilar, Payette, Idaho. Maternal grandparents are Gina Jamison and Mike Zyzkowski, Snohomish, and Brad Mueller, Monroe.
