Ice Age Floods

talks next week

The Ice Age floods and the changing course of the Palouse River will be the topic of a presentation next Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 3 p.m. in the Colfax Library and repeated at the Lacrosse Gathering Place at 7 p.m. that same evening. Sponsored by the Palouse Falls Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute, the presentation will focus upon stream capture during the floods and the diversion of the river from the Washtucna Coulee to its present day location.

Senior Meal

Next Garfield senior meal will be Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Garfield American Legion Hall. On the menu will be teriyaki chicken, fried rice, vegetable (TBD), roll with butter, brownie, coffee and juice.

WSU Chief of Police Bill Gardner will talk on "Fostering Care and Concern for Each Other – Police and the Public" for the Sept. 15 Pullman League of Women Voters Brown Bag luncheon meeting at the Community Congregational Church, 525 Campus Avenue. Free parking is available in the lot next to the church at the corner of Campus and Opal streets. The public is invited to attend.
