Whitman County Library offers area residents SCC enrichment classes

Whitman County Library offers a new lineup of classes from Community Colleges of Spokane set for Colfax and a new location, Rosalia. Participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible to avoid class cancellations. Register by calling 800-845-3324, online at sccel.spokane.edu/ACT2 or at your local branch library.

The first class of the fall season will begin Sept. 20 from 6-7 p.m. at the Colfax Library and runs for 10 weeks. Called Movement as Life, the class is led by Colfax resident and Associate Director of the WSU Writing Program, Lisa Johnson-Schull. The class is a hybrid of free-form dance and a semi-structured approach to investigating how people move through their lives. Each class starts with a theme or concept that moves through an exploration of movement through music. Some optional readings will be assigned to students who are interested in continued study on issues of somatic coaching.

For Rosalia, eBay Basics by Christopher and Karen Hoch will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in the library. This class was popular last year when it was offered in Colfax.

Other classes set for Colfax this fall include Bread-making with Kelli Collins; Ukulele, Beyond Beginner with Scott Hallett and a wide variety of art classes including Acrylic Textures, Mosaic Sculpture, Drawing Techniques, Mixed Media Painting and Watercolor Painting Basics.
